I was a concerned whether these were QEM or not. After receiving them, I compared them to the one I bought from my dealer. I couldn't see any differences. The box and Hologram sticker were the same as was the O-Ring package and the paper element. With TOYOTA stamped inside of the element paper. Made in Thailand. Great Toyota quality. I would buy these again when I need more.

So I have seen some counterfeit Toyota oil filters and I have bought many new filters from the dealerships. I have seen some of the reviews from before including the video, and that yellow filter is definitely counterfeit. But the set of 3 filters I received seem to be completely legit. The hologram sticker is the same as the ones I have seen as the ones from the dealership, not the lack luster type of hologram you get from counterfeit ones. These ones even get destroyed when you try to peel them off. The inter lid flap has the the print, idk exactly what it means, I assume it’s the part number of the box. The o-ring bag has the proper writing in the correct color red with the correct color blue line, counterfeit ones have no writing. The filter itself is stiff very little give, it’s the correct color not the counterfeit yellow, and has the part number printed in the write font color and placement on the double pleat. The crush washer definitely does not seem to be Toyota, it’s a different color and it’s glossy. I would use it if I didn’t have Toyota ones ready to go as it will work fine. The thing that knocks it down to a 4 star for me is that these filters where shipped in a plastic bag, not even the bubble kind. It pretty common knowledge that packages aren’t handled with much care, but working in the industry when I was younger I know I we thrash packages. One of three was crushed. Will I buy again? The value is there but the repeated reviews of counterfeit filters, I feel like I got lucky, so maybe.

The filter is doing what it is supposed to do. It's filtering oil in our Lexus RX-350. I was surprised that the filter works on so many different Toyota engines. That's common-sense engineering. I would have given 5 stars on all of the rating factors, but I could not figure out how "sheerness" can be used to describe an oil filter. I suspect that the folks who set up these rating scales have no knowledge of the products for which they seek ratings. The filter is great… the survey leaves a little to be desired.

I just completed the first oil change on my Tacoma and was happy with the results. These filters include the two necessary gaskets with the oem filter. Was also glad I bought the MotivX specialty oil change wrench and filter drain kit with funnel.
